Hi, I am Gilles

I’m passionate about harnessing the power of AI to address real-world challenges. As a Senior Research Scientist at Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab, I contribute to projects that drive social impact—ranging from developing AI tools to combat climate change to enhancing disaster response systems. My mission is to apply cutting-edge research to create meaningful, measurable change in the world. 

But beyond that, I define myself as a social entrepreneur—someone who sees technology not just as a tool, but as a catalyst for systemic transformation, in Africa and beyond. I believe in co-creating solutions with communities, ensuring that innovation is inclusive, ethical, and grounded in local context. Whether it’s building open-source platforms for underserved regions or mentoring the next generation of changemakers, I’m driven by a vision of equitable progress powered by technology.
